CW: Luminara Undul (CW-30)

Luminara is Jedi Master and a General in the Clone Wars, as is also a most valued adviser on the Jedi Council.

She was born on the Planet Mirial and was taken into the Jedi Order at a young age and took on the rank of Master at start of the "Invasion of Naboo" according to the archive.

She like Captain Argyus in my last review appeared in the the CW series: Episode 9 "Cloak of Darkness". Luminara was there to ensure that Nut Gunray reach Coruscant unharmed.

However during their travel to Coruscant, the Republic Cruiser "Tranquility", fell under the attack of the Separatist and was boarded by Super Battle Droids & Asajj Ventress in their attempts to either save Gunray or to silence him.

Luminara nearly fell to the Ventress, if not for Padawan Ahsoka which saved her life.

Here's a look at the latest Jedi Master to add to our every growing collection!

Points of Interest:

- Great detailing on apparel, as you can see below, nicely detail "Sash", belt buckle & arm band:

- Unlike the other Jedi Master example Kenobi or Windu figures which have no articulation in the legs, Luminara figures comes with Ball Hinged legs!

According to the archive's her patterned tattoos is a traditional of Mirialan, which is a reflection of her somatic commitment. its Nicely detailed and can be seen under her lower lip:

My Comments:

Likes:

- Detailing on the figure apparel, very nicely done.(especially the Sash)

- Facial Scuplt much nicer then the Movie ver, again nicely detail tattoo under her lower lip.

Dislikes:

- Foot Base small, thus figure very unstable/hard to stand (like Cad Bane)

- Hands - her light saber keeps pooping out...(cause small palm)

My Verdict:

In terms of Detailing this figure is Spot On! With a Great Facial Sculpt.

Posing/standing this figure can be a real challenge! throughout the entire photo shot for this post, i had to use "Tack it" to keep it standing, cause it kept falling over. which was very similar to Cad Bane figure.http://starwarsilike.blogspot.com/2009/06/cw-cad-bane.html

However if you can look pass this issues, the figures is reasonably Great! and would be great to have next to Commander Gree & his 41st elite corps!

CW-31: Captain Argyus

Argyus, a human male and the Captain of the Senate Commando, yet another elite group of the Senate Guard.

As seen in the the CW series: Episode 9 "Cloak of Darkness", Argyus was entrusted in escorting Viceroy Nut Gunray to Coruscant alongside Jedi Master Luminara Unduli and Padawan Ahsoka.

"Sometimes being a good soldier means doing what you think is right." Argyus to Ahsoka

Unknown to the Republic, Argyus was bribed by the Separatist into adding the escape of Gunray.

Moreover Argyus and Dooku were friends, as when Argyus was a recruit, the ship he was escorting fell under separatist attack and Argyus was hurt badly, which Dooku was aboard and save his life.

In the end Argyus was successful in completing his mission and was boosting to Ventress , that he would report to Dooku on his success, thus removing the credit from Ventress.

That's when Ventress drove the light through the pilot seat into Argyus chest, which killed him instantly.

A sad ending for Argyus but he had that coming with his arrogance overflowing.

Now, for the figure which i have been waiting for! every since i first saw Argyus in the series, it was a must get for me....and now i finally got it!

Points of Interest:

1)Comes with nicely detailed Blaster deflector shoulder pad armor:

However its not removable, as seen below:

A new helmet sculpt (very Greek looking), the standard senate commando comes with a black visor. (cant wait for those to be made)

My Comments:

Likes:

- Overall Great looking Figure! best view of the figures is from the side.

- Shoulder Pad and its detailed illustration really seals the deal on the purchase...

Dislikes:

- The COLOR! too light...

- Helmet check piece too flimsy, should be harder.

My Verdict:

Really Glad Hasbro made this! it came out looking Awesome!

The ancient looking Greek Soldier looking helmet and the clone trooper armor with an nicely detailed shoulder pad was a nice mix! like beacon & eggs (random right?)

I only have issue with the color, as the Senate Commando or Argyus for that matter had darker blue colored armor in the series!

The light blue given to this figure isn't bad, but it ain't great either!

However having said that, i hope Hasbro will revised the senate commando, if they are ever are going to produce that! and hopefully Argyus color will still be able to fit in with his troopers....
